- TRACS Data Mart
This project accomplished total issue resolution and achieved optimal customer satisfaction. At Tavant, we stress on customer satisfaction. Hence our solution TRACS Data Mart provides analytical ability to the client by which the client can drill through customer data and get information such as - issues faced by customer, category of customer facing issues, resolutions provided, satisfaction level, time for resolution, executive efficiency and so on.
With regards to the technology, we have used Dimensional modeling (ER Win), ETL (Informatica), Reporting (Business Objects), Sources and Target (Oracle).
This solution provides answers to strategic decisions for the business like improving sales, service and customer satisfaction.
- ODS Migration from SQL Server to Oracle
In today's business environment, business strategies drive the business forward. At the same time technology is an equally important player, since it's the backbone of any business.
At Tavant, we initiated the migration of ODS from SQL Server to Oracle for our client.
There were several challenges Tavant faced while initiating the migration. Some of these challenges were:
- Multiple sources of information for the ODS - This meant Tavant had to analyze these sources of information and build the ODS in Oracle
- Understanding packages/processes for data inputs - Tavant had to understand and analyze the various DTS packages, PL/SQL packages and other ETL processes which were used as data inputs to the SQL Server ODS. Tavant also needed to architect an entirely new EDS process
- Data type conversion - Tavant needed to build new schema and perform data type conversion for the SQL Server to Oracle
- Synchronize data loads - Tavant had to synchronize data loads from multiple sources into Oracle ODS
Tavant overcame all these challenges by using technology like Data Model (ER Win), ETL (Informatica, Shell Script, Perl Scripts), Source and Target (SQL Server, Oracle, Flat Files and Sybase)
Tavant's solution enabled our client to have a common database platform across the enterprise.
- BI Solution in form of DSS Portals, Dashboards
Dashboards and DSS Portals provide a handy mechanism for the management to make strategic business decisions. This project aimed to provide dashboards for business critical information.
Tavant provided a dashboard for Lead Management, which gave information about the branch, its executive efficiency as well as the distribution of lead conversion on various factors. This solution defined the priority level of customer calls, it managed branch efficiency etc. The Pricing dashboard provided miscellaneous information on Pricing Exception, Loan Pricing and several other factors.
Tavant used Business Objects for its Reporting functionality and Oracle as its database.
Our solution provided the client with key information for determining optimal loan rates, tenures and other crucial information.
- Data Quality Assurance for ODS, Staging and Data Marts
Data Quality has always been a matter of concern in enterprises. Any wrong information, however small can hugely impact the business.
Apart from data quality, our solution also provided structure comparison, data type comparison, constraint comparison etc. All this helps to ensure that data quality is at its best at the time of delivery. Tavant used technology such as ER Win (Structure Comparison) Beyond Compare, SQL Scripts and Shell Script (Data Comparison) Bug Tracking (Clear Quest).
This project served to provide our client with reliable and quality data which could be used for analysis.
- Data Conversion From Legacy System (Fidelity System) to New Application System (Homer)
Data Migration has a very important role to play in replacing legacy systems with new application systems. This kind of project is quite complex as not much documentation is available for legacy system. The various phases for project are as below
